This year I am beginning my tenth year of teaching. I have one year experience teaching 6th grade, and the other nine teaching have been teaching 5th grade. Additionally, I have taught Reading/Language Arts and Science separately, but this year I am teaching all three subjects.
When I began teaching, becoming a school librarian was always in the back of my mind as a long term goal. After my daughter began school, I figured it was a good time to begin school (again), too.
I think the most exciting part of this endeavor is whenever I tell someone I’m studying to become a librarian, they light up and tell me how amazing that is, and then they tell me how they can envision me in that position. It’s very encouraging that I have the support of the people around me to pursue a job I’ve wanted for a long time.
This ePortfolio is a collection of resources, artifacts of learning, and personal reflection of my journey through the library science program. This first semester has been full of new information that I have applied in my current classroom, and I look forward to using in my school library.
